My name is Katie Lowe. I am a homeschool mom of three very active kiddos. In 2025, my grandmother was put on hospice. I never realized the impact that caregiving can have on you, not just emotionally, but physically.

Sleeping on a pallet in her room for the past year, I would wake up in the morning and barely be able to get out of bed. I would be aching and creaking and popping. By evening time, I was stooped over and in pain.

I looked at Dr. Hansen's website and came in for my first visit. I talked to him and was immediately impressed by the atmosphere here. It was like walking into my friend's house.

Dr. Hansen talked to me not just about my physical issues, but my past issues, what I had been through. He talked to me about my mental health. He talked to me about everything, trying to get a full picture of who I was as a person, which meant the world to me. He wasn't just cracking and hoping. He really came at my situation with a game plan.

Coming to River of Life has been the catalyst that has changed so much in my life. All of a sudden, I'm not just sitting on the bench watching the kids play on the playground. I'm playing on the playground with them.

It's been a very great blessing in my life to have a doctor who cares not just about the prescription, but about the patient. Every visit, he meets you where you're at. He asks how you're feeling, and he adjusts accordingly.

As a mom, it's so easy to take care of your husband, your kids, even the pets. But when it comes to taking care of yourself, that often gets put on the back burner. If you're like me, a mom who loves to take care of everyone, I encourage you to take care of yourself too. It's so important that we care for ourselves, because then we're able to give care even better. It will change your life. Just give it a try.

This is one patient’s experience in her own words. Every patient is different, and individual results vary.
