When someone tells me they have a herniated disc or a pinched nerve, the first thing I want to know is what is the nerve actually doing? Are you experiencing pain, numbness or tingling, weakness, changes in your reflexes, pain traveling into your arm or leg? Those details matter because nerve-related problems can range from relatively minor irritation to something that requires additional imaging or medical evaluation.

That's why we're very thorough with these cases. We'll evaluate your strength, sensation, reflexes, orthopedic findings, and how your spine is functioning. Depending on what we find, we may recommend X-rays. We may recommend MRI or referral to another provider before beginning your care. When chiropractic is appropriate, our approach is gentle and specific. The goal is to improve motion and reduce unnecessary mechanical and neurological stress around the affected area. We never want to force something that shouldn't be forced. The priority is always understanding what's happening and then choosing the safest approach to helping you move forward.

If you've been told you have a herniated disc or a pinched nerve, or if you're experiencing pain, numbness, tingling, or weakness, schedule an appointment with us. We'll take the time to evaluate what's happening and help you determine the right next step.

This video is general education, not a diagnosis. Every patient is different, and the right care starts with an exam.
